To prepare a bowl of matcha is to enter a world of finely honed gestures, quiet reverence for the seasons, and a spirituality that resonates with the spirit of Zen. However, as "matcha" becomes a global phenomenon, we face a troubling reality: the market is being saturated with low-quality imitations and "green powders" devoid of both flavor and spirit. We are witnessing the erosion of a thousand-year-old heritage as it is consumed as a mere commodity, detached from its cultural soul.
That is why we have made it our mission, rooted in our identity as Japanese citizens with a global perspective, to present matcha not as a product, but as an experience—one that shares the philosophy of the makers, the memory of the land, and a richness that fulfills the five senses.

At the heart of this challenge is the restoration of our beloved home: Kagoshima, a sacred land of tea. Through our international career, We have rediscovered the extraordinary quality of Kagoshima, and it is our deepest wish to see our hometown loved and recognized by the world. Kagoshima is a unique city that lives in harmony with an active volcano. The matcha nurtured by this powerful, primordial energy is vibrant, spirited, and profoundly delicious.

Beginning with matcha, we intend to redefine Kagoshima’s world-class crafts—such as Oshima Tsumugi silk, Satsuma Kiriko glass, and Satsuma ware—as part of a broader "Tea Culture" for the modern luxury lifestyle. Our goal is to breathe new life into fading traditions, revitalizing the regions where they were born and transforming our home into one of the most radiant destinations on earth.

Even amidst the haste of modern life, we envision a future where anyone can beautifully and freely enjoy the dignity of Japanese culture and the spirit of Zen through a single bowl of tea. LOGO STORY

Since ancient times, the crane has been revered as a noble and beautiful bird, symbolizing longevity, blessing, and peace. Our hometown,in Kagoshima, is also Japan’s foremost wintering ground for cranes, where more than ten thousand birds cross the sea from Siberia each winter. In their image as migratory birds that travel vast distances, I saw the journey of a brand destined to move across the world. That vision led us to adopt the motif of the tsurumaru—a crane crest reminiscent of a traditional family emblem.

This delicious bowl of matcha, we believe, can quietly calm the human heart and make the world gentler and more serene. With that romantic wish in mind, this logo was created by the artist MIHO MURAKAMI, whose aesthetic sensibility I had long admired.

While carrying the dignity of Japan, the design also possesses a sharp, modern strength. It even evokes the commanding presence of the falcon, so beloved in the Middle East. Transcending borders, transcending eras, and resonating with sensibilities across cultures—this is the identity of SALON DE MATCHA.
